Report: Fins owner Ross 'infatuated' with Peyton
The idea of Peyton Manning playing for a team other than the Colts in 2012 seems like a lock after all the back and forth between Manning's camp and Jim Irsay in Indianapolis this week. One team that's always mentioned as a possible landing spot for Manning is the Miami Dolphins, and over the past two days, the notion of Manning's gotten revved up a little bit.
There's a report Sunday from Barry Jackson of Miami Herald where Jackson writes that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is "infatuated with the idea of signing" Manning.
Adding fuel to the fire is a report Sun Sentinal that the Dolphins are on the "short list" of teams that Manning has interest in, if/when he leaves the Colts.
The marriage makes sense: Manning owns a condo in South Beach so he's familiar with the area. The Dolphins have a decent set of weapons headlined by Marshall and Bush. Miami already has a good defense.
Much still has to unfold with Manning, and the pursuit of No. 18 could potentially blow up in the Dolphins face. Manning could be released as late as March 8; free agency begins on March 13. If Ross and Jeff Ireland chase Manning and fail to get him, packers backup and would-be free-agency cash cow Matt Flynn could sign elsewhere.
That's not a situation that will make anyone's heart flutter in South Beach.

If he's healthy Peyton Manning would make sence for Miami. There is no dought He would fill up the stadium every week and I'm sure based on Manning's history we would be Playoff contender next season…

Definitely…take the chance. If he's healthy you can have 3 years with Super Bowl dreams. I'm getting so jealous of all these other teams making the Super Bowl.
And we can still draft a QB too. Tannehill, Weeden, whoever

I put out the BLUE PRINT in a post earlier about the team changes, and Ross obviously reads my comments/post here, so he knows what needs to take place this off season.
I SCREAMED all last off season on here WE NEED A BIG TIME PLAY MAKER TE!!!! and never in the history of the sport has it been more evident that, that is the new weapon of mass destruction on the field.
Let's make a SPLASH and go get the TE (have to see who's available) & B Lloyd….OH YEAH & that PEYTON guy!!!
If anyone is the FRONT OFFICE is interested in my resume just shout me an email and we can talk

Peyton Manning doesn't give no teams discounts! With that being said Miami Dolphins are in postion to afford Manning! Going into next season Miami is in really good shape being 15 million under the cap. That's better than most teams that are in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes! I can see us bringing in Reggie Wayne too at Manning's request!
Manning, Wayne, Marshall, Bess, Bush, ect = SUPERBOWL WIN!
As far as TE goes – If Greenbay doesnt franchise tag TE Finley! I can see Philbin wanting to bring him in.
Other notable free agents: Washington's Davis (59 catches-796 yards) that was only 12 games before a drug suspension),
Minnesota's Shiancoe (36-409), Carolina's Shockey (37-455), and Buffalo's Chandler (38-389).

Steve-get out the checkbook. Jeff-be prepared to kiss Peyton's ass whenever and wherever he asks. And Dan, let him just win on the golf course, OK?

How can you not want Payton??? Our young blood was supposed to be Henne. Our team has most of the pieces to do something big. And guess what, the one piece we are missing is QB. The team is in it's prime,…..if we pick up a young qb,..it will take about 3 years to make a big impact. Yes,….we get a young qb if possible but to sit and learn,….

Just think about what the reason was for the Colts to let him go.

We're not going to be able to draft a QB this year that's any good anyway. Taking Peyton with Reggie Wayne for a few years is a no brainier. But, I see Denver and Arizona meeting with Peyton and don't see or hear the Dolphins doing anything.

Look,….it's obvious why they let payton go. After the injury, and having that kind of season, jumping on board with singing luck and cutting ties with payton definitely outweighed keeping him. Might as well clear up some capspace for your new "franchise QB."
Luck and RG3 are not an automatic however. No QB is. That's what sucks about drafting qb's,….and we suck at it.
