Game Recap: Dolphins 31, Chiefs 3

[1]For the first time since December 12, 2010, the Miami Dolphins celebrated a victory today, thanks to a 31-3 domination of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Not only did the Fins score more points than they had in any game this season, they allowed fewer than they had in any game, making a perfect recipe for victory. The three points, in fact, were the fewest allowed by the Dolphins’ defense since December of 2008 against the Bills (in Toronto).

Quarterback Matt Moore was outstanding, completing 17 of 23 passes for 244 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions (147.5 rating!). Reggie Bush also came back with a second straight big game, totaling 142 yards (92 rushing and 50 receiving). Additionally, Brandon Marshall caught eight passes for 106 yards and a touchdown, and TE Anthony Fasano had two TD receptions in the first half.

The Dolphins moved the ball ruthlessly on their touchdown drives, which lasted just six, three, four, and two plays each. Late in the game, a long drive (12 plays, 73 yards, 6:49) ended with a 42-yard Dan Carpenter field goal.

The defense obviously did their job as well, as the Fins were in Matt¬†Cassel’s face all day and sacked him five times.

Next up for the Fins, a home game–finally–as they return to Sun Life Stadium to host the Redskins on Sunday at 1 o’clock.
