These two guys are two BIG reasons why the Patriots are 13-2

The Dolphins will play their final game of the 2010 season on the second day of 2011 this Sunday against the Patriots. While the Fins will then turn their attention to next year after the game, the Pats will be heading into their playoff bye week before hosting a second round playoff game the following week.

This was, according to a lot of people, supposed to be a rebuilding year for New England. 13 wins later, the Pats are once again the top seed in the AFC and have scored more points this season than any other team in the NFL. Their offense is a multi-faceted attack which is, of course, driven by all-everything QB Tom Brady.

Our QB, John Congemi, is here to break down what exactly makes them so good and tells us what the Fins need to be looking out for on Sunday afternoon…

The New England offense continues to steamroll over opposing defenses because of the efficiency and productivity of quarterback Tom Brady. Brady is having the type of year that teenagers wish for when their playing PlayStation 3 with their favorite team! The numbers are staggering when you combine his accuracy and match it to all the pieces of the Patriots puzzle. He’s not thrown an interception in his last 319 attempts, which is a new NFL record passing Bernie Kosar (308) and Hall of Famer Bart Starr (294) for consecutive passes without an INT. In addition to that, Tom extended his NFL record streak to eight consecutive games with at least two touchdowns without throwing an interception! He’s doing all this on a team that has a plus-27 turnover margin, and that’s arguably why the Patriots are sitting at 13-2 atop the AFC!

The most amazing thing is that he’s achieving this by mixing in veterans and rookies at multiple positions, and you can’t tell the difference between them! Wes Welker (leads the team in receiving yards with 848, 86 receptions and seven touchdowns) and Deion Branch (48 for 706 yards and five touchdowns) provide stability and big play ability to the offense. The youth at TE has been a bright spot all season long with rookies Aaron Hernandez (45 receptions for 563 yards and six touchdowns) and Rob Gronkowski (36 for 444 yards and a team high nine touchdowns)! New York Jet castoff Danny Woodhead has been productive all season long. He can gash you in the running game or beat you out of the backfield catching the football. Woodhead has accounted for 907 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns and the consistent rushing of BenJarvus Green-Ellis (209 for 928 yards and 12 touchdowns) make this combination one of the best tandems in the league.

I expect to see the full arsenal of the New England attack on Sunday because that’s the mentality of Bill Belichick. The second half of the game might dictate a change at some of these positions, but I would expect the Dolphins to see the number one ranked scoring offense to start the game and contiune to play at a high level!

Which of these Patriots offensive weapons worries you most?
